Well it seems like another great magazine has taken a hit by the declining economy and will cease their publication. Vibe magazine’s final issue showcases a topless Christina Milian with her fiancee, The Dream grabbing her boobies. I am sure everyone is interested in reading how Dremilian hooked up and etc. but unfortunately it is said that the final issue will NOT be available on newstands (SOURCE).

I was supposed to be trying to eat healthier and I have been doing so good but sometimes I yearn for a big juicy burger and fries or some BBQ ribs…yum!! Drake announced that he has signed to Young Money, a distribution by Universal Republic. Okay now everybody can breathe now. Hopefully he can live up to all the hype and be the “best we ever had” in hip hop….ummm let’s see!!!

I have always loved Trey Songz since he first arrived on the music scene. He has really developed as a man and artist…definitely a good look. I still play “In the Middle” on a regular basis (my jam!!!). Known for his sexy remakes of songs from Beyonce to M.I.A, Trey always comes hard no matter what. With the help of Tionna Smalls, a relationship expert, Chili will take on challenges that will teach her the things she needs to do and know to maintain a long-term relationship. After many failed attempts with love, one being the romance she had with superstar Usher, she is ready to focus on having a relationship that will stand the test of time. Don’t look for it too son though…..the reality show isn’t due to air till sometime next year.

This has got to be one of my favorite summer jams…..Trey Songz and Jim Jones…it doesn’t get any better than that!! Not to mention that I will be celebrating my birthday in Miami this year and I am so looking forward to it…gotta get this body in shape…I am on my way…what you think?

So here is a play by play of what I thought of the Awards show that aired last night.

The Pre-Show:

To say the least, I was not impressed by the dry performances on the pre-show. Hurricane Chris performed “Halle Berry” followed by Terrence and Rocsi’s parody of a few music videos which I must admit had me LMAO!! All the rest of the performances I could’ve done without. Not to say that they didn’t have great talent on stage like Pleasure P, Letoya, Jerimih, Kid Cudi and Day 26 but they just did not deliver @ 100 for me. To top that off I was completely annoyed with Toccara at her failed attempt at interviewing the celebs on the red carpet. She was so overly animated!!!

Once the show finally started we were “entertained” by New Edition. Ralph Tresvant seemed like he couldn’t get enough wind to belt out the lyrics to the song but I was jamming along with them because it was a MJ classic.

Jaime cracked me up doing the moonwalk with that young ass jacket and pants on.

Lebron won the Athlete of the Year Award…GO CAVS!!!! You know I was uber excited about that!!

Ne-Yo KILLED “Lady In My Life” (my fav MJ song) and Jaime and T-Pain did the damn thing on Blame It….I’m sorry if you are hating on the auto-tune (just because everybody else is over the auto-tune sound it doesn’t mean I will follow boat…WooPOW!) but I thought that Jaime did a great job starting the song off that way!! Loved it…even with Snoop coming on the stage to do his signature dance!! Oh and I can’t forget TRAVIS BARKER…all I can say is DAMN he can play them drums!!

Now I must admit that I had grown tired of hearing “Turn My Swag On” but I think that SouljaBoy did an okay job at rockin the stage alone:

Then it was time for the old school heads to come out…Keith Sweat, Guy and BBD. Of course I was jamming away but you can tell that some of them are starting to feel their ages when they are performing because they were all running out of breath.

Keyshia and Monica both looked fab and gave a good performance.

Alicia Keys and Wyclef both received Humanitarian Awards which were soooooooo deserving!!

Jay-Z came out with a fresh cut and KILLED “Death of the Auto-Tune” (afterwards we saw that he got his hair cut on the video…thank God because I was starting to think that he just didn’t give a F anymore)

Tevin came out of nowhere to honor the O’Jays then the sexy Trey Songz along with Tyrese and Johnny Gill came out and did their thing on the stage. Loved the performance!! Then the O’Jays came on and showed the younguns how to get down!!!

Tyrese and Taraji were wildin with a small skit based on the movie “Baby Boy” but then Ving Rhames came out and I was lost..What was that all about???

After SMH @ Ving I was excited to see the performer that I was anticipating to come out and tear the stage up with “Pretty Wings”…yes I am talking about the sexy, soulful Maxwell.

I thought the night was finally getting better until Drake and Weezy performed “Every Girl” and brought out a whole bunch of tweens on the stage while they sung it. Not tasteful at all!

Finally Janet came out looking beautiful as ever and had me in tears with her speech…she is such a classy lady.

The night ended with a great performance by Neyo and Jaime Foxx.

Overall the show was Average but nonetheless I was content with it. Till next year…..

I am sure everyone was expecting Chris Brown, Usher or at least Omarion to come and pay tribute to the King of Pop last night at the BET Awards. Word is that Chris Brown was a sure bet to perform after his team reached out to BET but at the last minute he was yanked from the show. It is speculated that BET was going back and forth about whether it would be a good look for them to let CB perform. Eventually they were convinced that a performance by CB would not be in their best interest (I wonder by whom). Oh and now I am hearing that Jay-Z had something to do with it….not confirmed…just a rumor as of now…STORY STILL DEVELOPING…

Personally I think that Chris Brown would’ve been the smart choice. You can’t knock a guy for his talent no matter what he has done in his “personal” life. If BET wanted to play that game then R. Kelly, T.I., Lil Kim, DMX and many others should not be able to participate in anything BET related. Of course we all know that what CB did to Rihanna was horrible but to deprive the boy from paying homage to his mentor was just not right at all.

I really was expecting more from BET with the Tribute than what I saw. However, I can’t complain knowing that they only had a few days to revamp the show. Personally, I think that BET should’ve considered putting together a show dedicated soley to MJ instead of trying to incorporate everything into the awards show at the last minute. I think that the Awards show should’ve stayed the way they originally lined it up with a small tribute to MJ at the end with another show being taped just in memory of MJ. Anywho, I will post my take on the Awards in my next post.

I’ve always thought that getting a little $$$ can make a person look better but after seeing these pics of New York at a BET Awards event yesterday in LA I am starting to reconsider!! Someone please get this chick an image consultant asap. The boob job is horrid, the makeup is plastered on and the lace front has back-flipped. I’m sorry but when you have a f*ucked up attitude and down talk people all the time you can at least have a little polish about about yourself when you walk out the door. I mean can she REALLY talk…SMH!!!

All the celebs in LA came out last night to enjoy fun times at Debra Lee’s Pre BET Awards dinner held at Drago Centro.

According to AJSUPREME’s blog: 1. The telecast is being lengthened (at least 30 mins more), performers are being added to the lineup and additional guests are expected to attend, which has been announced by Debra L. Lee, Chairman and Chief Executive of Black Entertainment Television. 2).Artists such as Beyonce and Ne-Yo, who worked on their performances for weeks, scrambled to change them last-minute to honor the King of Pop, said awards show producer Stephen Hill. 3). Artist such as Usher, Justin Timberlake who had not planned to attend Sunday’s show are rushing to Los Angeles to participate, according to show producer Stephen Hill. So looking forward to watchin the show tonight!

Hopefully I will be watchin it live in LA next year and not from my couch…

Over the past year I was approached with many opportunities to expand myself and my blog but turned them down because of some personal issues that I was having. Anybody that knows me can back me up in saying that whatever task I take on I have to be 100 percent sure of and confident that I can get it completed before I take it on. When I turned these opportunities down I refused to go into the specifics of why I could not be a part of them so not to put any negative vibes out about what I was going thru during that times. I would get numerous emails from websites asking me to be a ghostwriter for their sites in addition to hosting and traveling opportunities. Because my personal life was in havoc I passed them all up. I don’t like to half step and because I wasn’t focused I decided to turn them down rather than pursue them and be too distracted to not give them my all.

When I look back over those opportunities I get a little upset because I passed on some that could’ve jump started my career in the entertainment industry to way beyond where it is now. However, I have no regrets. I went through what I went through for a reason and maybe it just wasn’t my time yet. Knowing that I do have people who seek me out makes me work even harder. My focus is so strong right now that as these opportunities are presented to me I can really determine what will be beneficial to me in the long run and go at them full throttle. I am on my re-branding mission….working on making my mark by working extra hard and staying focused and never giving up.

Now that all distraction are out of my life I am able to put my 6 month goal plan into action and work on reaching my goals no matter what. I will never allow any BS affect or keep me from progressing in my career. So I am doing what I can in improving my writing, networking my butt off, becoming more social and just utilizing all my social networking channels to promote “Nisha Yvette” to the next level. I was reading an article online on Valeisha Butterfield on how she sent a random email to Russell Simmons asking for an internship, got the position and worked her way up to becoming the Managing Director for the Hip Hop Summit Network and founder of WEEN. Now that is what I call taking the bull by the horn!!

I have so much planned and it’s great to know I have the support of my friends, family and my readers. I’ve learned not to sit back and wait for things to happen but rather take the bull by its horns and take control of my destiny. I can’t think about the past…it’s all about the future and I have the opportunity to refocus and make things happen.

BTW…I love that she decided to tone down the hair…this look is much better!

Check out “Work It Out” by Beyonce from the Austin Power’s “Goldmember” movie soundtrack. I loved Bee’s hair so much in this video that I rocked that same style for a while myself. Now that I am gradually going back to blond it’s more tempting for me to attempt the look again. Okay maybe not so wild…something a little more toned down.
