Rihanna Album Release Party

rihanna
Rihanna had an album release party that was held at the “Juliet” in New York City. Helping her to celebrate the release of Rated R was Jay-Z, Fabolous, Diddy, Rick Ross and a host of other celebs. Let me just say that she looked fab even with all the jewels on the shoulders of her outfits! LOL! Not to mention the black cake with ghostlike figures on top.

Kitty’s Rated Next: BIG SHANE aka MR. FLOWICANE KATRINA

bigshane
Big Shane, owner and founder of his own label “Cut The Check Entertainment”, brings classic hip hop club heat with poppy snares and huge rattling bass kicks. Born overseas in Taegu, South Korea to a military family, Big Shane has been successful at building a buzz for himself not just locally but abroad without any help of any management, promotional or marketing team.

Shane started his on music group/entertainment label “Cut the Check Entertainment” (C.T.C. Ent.). Shane worked hard on other musical projects and decided to start his own modeling team which consisted of female models aka “C.T.C. Models” which have been featured in many videos including major artists such as; Mike Jones, R. Kelly, Paul Wall, Ray J, Slim Thug and many more, including magazines and calender photo shoots, where they advertised “C.T.C Int.” apparel.

Keeping his eyes on the prize, 2009 has been a very busy year, Shane released a warning shot “I Hold My Own Pt. 2” the mix tape itself reached over 250k on line downloads, and over 10,000 units flooded the streets. His street anthem “Cocaine Music” is on repeat from the club to the streets, he dropped “International Grind Time Volume 2” with Archie Eversole, the mixtape received over 300k downloads in its first week. Shane then dropped another mix tape “International Grind time Volume 3” feat. Tum Tum aka Mozilla. Big Shane plans to release “International Grind time” feat Blood Raw, formerly of Jezzy’s label CTE/Def Jam Records.

With all of his hard work, hustle and determination who knows what the future holds for Big Shane. You can find out more information about Big Shane and C.T.C. Entertainment at www.myspace.com/BigShaneHits or you can contact him personally at BigShaneCTC@gmail.com.

Kitty’s Rated Next: Who Is Skent Dukes?

SkentDukes
In an industry where new artist are plentiful but many lack substance, Skent Dukes is an artist full of potential. With the ability to interpret music through words and influenced by more than just the times and the struggles of life, he is determined to impact the genre of Hip Hop on more than just one level. Hailing from Cleveland, OH, Skent Dukes is a triple threat that has gained local success and is now looking to pour his eclectic blend of music into the masses. As a writer, rapper and producer, who sets the trends instead of following them, he is an individual use to the grind of making things happen.

Growing up in Cleveland at a time where it’s music scene was run by national artist and an inner circle of locals, Skent found a place to stand on his own. As a young teenager and member of Sly Fam—alongside his brother, Stone—Dukes was apart of a 1999 underground E.P. entitled “Thievery,” which went on to sell over 10,000 units in Ohio and effectively put him into a viable position in the mid west music scene. Three years later, Skent’s first solo venture “Get It Right” had the Cleveland streets buzzing and moved, over 9,500 copies all out of the trunk of his car. The album boasted 19 tracks, including “Swallow That” featuring Columbia recording artist Lil’ Flip and the standout single “Grind Right” that landed at No. 25 on the Billboard magazine’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart and at No. 43 on the Hot 100 singles. According to Billboard, “Grind Right” sold approximately 25,000 copies, as indicated by Soundscan. For several weeks, Skent Dukes’ single “Grind Right” was the most purchased track locally, outselling national artists both inside and outside of his genre.

Having opened for major national recording artists such as Jay-Z, Scarface, Ludacris, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and the Big Tymers, Skent Dukes has the ability to hold his own and engage any crowd. In addition to holding his own on stage, his collaborations with Lil’ Flip, Dogzilla and Mike Jones have also proven his growing skill level. Now, currently gearing up for the release of his next solo album and pushing his new jump-off single “Steady Watchin,” Skent Dukes has an arsenal of lyrics and material that can readily flex his rhyming muscles over some of his self-produced and blazing tracks. Looking forward to dispensing some of Cleveland’s assorted flavor into the national hip-hop/rap market, Skent Dukes more than ready to have the world steady watchin.

Check out his singles for “Steady Watchin” and “High School Sweetheart” below. You can also check him out at www.myspace.com/skentdukes1

Inside the AMA’s..

jayzzz
Overall it was an okay show. To be honest Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” still hasn’t grown on me. Alicia Keys performance of “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” was nice…can’t say anything bad about it…hey I love the song to death. Jeniffer Lopez almost slipped..I missed it though! Glad that she didn’t hurt herself! Janet’s performance was nice…hey I gotta give it up to her..she is still tearing the stage up at her age! Rihanna’s performance was okay…didn’t like the outfit or the hair and the tat going down the front of her neck but whatever…it’s Rihanna! Lady Gaga’s outfit reminded me of the alien in the movie “Aliens”.

The 2009 Victoria’s Secret Front Row

dapper

Jay-Z, Dr. Dre and Keri Hilson were among the celebs who turned out for the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Show that was held at the Armory in New York. I thought Jay-Z looked quite dapper with his suit and bowtie and Keri looked absolutely amazing.

Toni Braxton Speaks on Her Separation

toni

Toni Braxton recently spoke on her separation from hubby, Keri Lewis. In an interview with The Voice she had this to say:

“I’m newly separated – no-one really knows what went wrong. My husband and I are still cool – we get along great. But that could become challenging. If things go further, you may read about some things… things will have to be split and all of that.”

She also doesn’t want the divorce to get messy so she had this to say:

“Oh, it’ll nothing like that, we were friends for years before we started dating and we’ve been married for almost nine years. I’m a little sad about it and I can’t see anything down the line because it’s all so new. We’re sorting different things right now.”

Toni’s new video for “Yesterday” ft. Trey Songz is due to premiere this Friday.
