Tyler Perry, who is known for his movies starring his character Madea, recently opened up about his past on how he was abused and molested as a child. Tyler Perry was inspired to open up about the story after watching the movie Precious that he co-produced with Oprah Winfrey who was also a victim of child abuse. Precious is of a teenager who is exposed to sexual and physical violence.  Perry had this to say:

“It gave me so much hope after watching it,” writes Perry. “For everyone who has been a Precious, male or female, this movie will make you so glad you made it through.”

I really hope that there are people who are victims of child abuse and molestation that will read the letter and take it as a step towards getting help. Child abuse and molestation are both serious matters that we neglect to talk to our children about. Some children want to reach out but they just don’t know how they can get the help that they need. I could never understand why people are so evil that they could scar these innocent children and teens for the rest of their lives. As a mother it disgusts me to see or even hear about what these MONSTERS are getting away with.
