Kitty Intermission: Don’t Hate, Congratulate!

eggs

Why do we as women tend to look at another woman’s success as a threat instead of something that we could learn from. Remember success isn’t limited. Success is something that everyone can attain. And while some might associate success with having celebrity status or having a lot of money it really is more of an internal feeling of the person that has achieved it. We all have different perspectives on what success is. I for one knows how hard it is as a black woman to make it in a society where everything is so male dominated. Not only do I face challenges as a woman but as a black woman as well. However, I found out that at times I would place myself in certain positions and not believe that I could achieve what another has but it was the mentality that put me at a standstill. Now I truly believe enough in myself to achieve everything that I set out to do. So instead of despising a woman because of her acclaimed success we should be supporting her and showing her that she is appreciated. One persons success can motivate another person to step it up and work harder at whatever it is they want to achieve. I get a lot of emails from younger females who say that they enjoy my blog and how they can start one of their own and I freely give my advice. I also get emails from people who say that they can relate to the things that I post on my personal blog because I have spoken on things that they have been concerned or thinking about in their own lives and it encourages me to want to share a little piece of me. I am entering the new year with my new business and I eager to help anybody that needs advice on how to run their own business and etc. I am still learning from my peers but as I learn I am passing that knowledge along. The more that we stick together the stronger we can become as women and not only build corporations but empires. So I am encouraging all women to get your head out the clouds and support each other! Together we can conquer corporate America!

Smooches,

Kitty Intermissions: Letter From Nisha

Picture 3765_edited-2

Hello All,

First of all I want to thank all of the people who have been down for me since day one by visiting my page daily and checkin out what I have to say. All of the comments, advice, questions I appreciate from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to all my “veteren” and new readers…you all motivate me to keep my blog going on a day to day basis. However, I wanted to inform you all that my blog will be taking on a new direction. As I look across the internet at the different entertainment blogs there seems to be a lack of originality. You go to one blog and read it then to another and the stories are almost identical. With that being said, I will be taking my blog back to its roots by posting on things that interest me like relationships, music, life, causes and restaurant reviews and things of that nature versus celebrity gossip. There are so many topics out there that are of interest to my readers than reading about what this person is doing and what that person is doing. I would rather take the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident and talk about how people in that situation can get help. I would rather post new music by independent and up and coming artist then those who are already established…the Kitty Eargasms will continue!! I will offer advice on branding, marketing and promoting yourself and more. People think that they will only get readers by talking about SEX but what about LOVE…more love topics coming soon! I am taking a new and positive look on everything starting now and going forward. I hope that you all will enjoy what I have yet to come.

Love always,

Nisha Yvette

P.S You can also visit me on my personal blog at ItsNisha.com where I just talk about random BS but it’s all me stripped down with no makeup!! LOL! BTW: If you are a new musician, beautician or business owner and would like me to promote you on my site please email me at nishayvette@gmail.comĀ  SMOOCHES!!!

Kitty Intermission: It’s More Than Physical…

black-couple5

A relationship is placing one’s heart and soul in the hands of another while taking charge of another in one’s soul and heart. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Good relationships are made up of more than just a physical attraction. Physical attraction often drives us to approaching someone with hopes of getting to know them on a more intimate level. With the initial conversation you will begin to get a glimpse into the persons personality and kinda feel them out to see if it is something worth pursuing. We must understand that this person has had prior heartbreaks, struggles and issues that you wouldn’t possibly know about. This person has probably experienced being alone, being lied to or being abused in a relationship. Initially that physical attraction can be stronger than your willingness to learn more about the person and you end up sleeping with him/her and afterward realize that you made a huge mistake. Your heart, mind and body are so precious and must be protected at all times. Once you give someone a part of your heart you are trusting that they will protect it as if it was their own. Why is it always a rush to sleep with someone when you can wait and make a deeper connection that will make the intimate moments much more satisfying. Too many of us set low standards and walk around with self-respect and then we look for someone who provides temporary satisfaction instead of realizing that you are a wonderful person and deserve a person who can knock your socks of mentally and physically.

Kitty Intermission: Back Down Memory Lane

Sometimes we get so caught up in what we are doing today that we often forget where we came from. It’s always good to take a moment and just reminiscence on the good times. Think of the days when you were playing hide and seek with all the neighborhood kids. Think back on when you broke down the card board boxes and everybody tried to show of their break dancing skills. Think back when you would sneak and watch your parents and their friends play card games late at night. Some of my fond memories of growing up included being excited over getting a dollar from my father so I can stock up on “penny candy” at the corner store. I used to always get a bag of Dan Dee’s Salt-N-Vinegar chips, some Cherry Chans and pickle….surprised I wasn’t throwing up all day!! I remember when the song “We Are The World” came out and all the teenagers acted like they were each of the singers in the song and made their own rendition of the hit record. Of course I didn’t get a part because I was too young. I remember being afraid of the “Green Lady” and thinking she was that old lady with the 20 dogs that lived on the corner of my street. I remember how I had a crush on Rick James and would lick the TV every time the Superfreak video came on. Everybody should really take the time to reminiscence on younger days when life was so carefree. Although I am in Atlanta now, I will never forget the fun times I shared with family and friends back in Cleveland, Ohio. What are your fondest childhood memories? Check out one of my favorite songs from way back when…Nice N Smooth – Hip Hop Junkies (yes I know ALL the lyrics!)

Now back to our regularly scheduled program….
